Investors in the oil and gas industry should consider doing business in Papua New Guinea because of the huge resource potential and good Government support, says Petroleum Minister Dr Fabian Pok.
He was speaking to a delegation of United States business investors in Port Moresby.
Pok said there was opportunity for investment in offshore exploration.
He told the delegation that the Government was giving priority to the offshore project Pasca A in the Gulf.
Pasca A is in progress to be approved to produce oil and gas.
Pok told the delegation that the time was right to invest in the country as PNG was hosting Apec and data showed a huge potentialfor oil and gas development. He said political stability and a sound fiscal environment were also good for investment.
