Business owners get certificates

THREE people will now be better able to start their small businesses after receiving co-operative certificates in Port Moresby last week.
An officer from the Office of Cooperative Societies under the Department of Commerce and Industry, Simon Asi, presented Gabriel Mandome, Timothy Kiruai and Julie Kipoi certificates during the Anglicare’s Kisim na Givim (KnG) programme.
Mandome and Kiruai would run their business while Kipoi would run her tailoring business.
“In Papua New Guinea, there are only two certificates that are issued to run your business,” Asi said.
“The first is the Investment Promotion Authority certificate, this is for big businesses.
“Second is a Co-operative Societies certificate and this is for village people.
“The reason is so that they can be recognised by the State for funding assistance to run projects and small business.”
