BUSINESShouses is Port Moresby are looking forward to hosting our visitors attending the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summits next week.
Port Moresby Chamber of Commerce and Industry Rio Fiocco said many were looking forward to the Chief Executive Officers’ Summit on the cruise liner Pacific Explorer.
China’s President Xi Jinping and United States Vice-President Mike Pence will address that summit.
They will also attend the Leaders’ Summit on Sunday at Apec Haus.
“It will be a fantastic opportunity for PNG CEOs to hear from the leaders and speakers, mix with them after the summit and exchange business contacts,” Fiocco said.
The list of speakers include Raymund Chao, chairman Asia-Pacific of PricewaterhouseCoopers; Yi Xiaozhun, deputy director-general of the World Trade Organisation; Victoria Kwakwa, regional vice-president of the East Asia and Pacific Region of the World Bank; Patrick Pouyanne, chairman and chief executive of Total; Robin Fleming, chief executive of Bank South Pacific; Neil Chapman, senior vice-president of ExxonMobil; Pierre Eladari, from Puma Energy Global; Sandeep Biswas, managing director of Newcrest; Denis O’Brien, chairman of Digicel Group; Carrie Lam, chief executive of Hong Kong; Peter Fang, head of Asia-Pacific and general manager China of Shire; Ann Sherry, chairman of Carnival Australia; Dr Aran Maree, chief medical officer of Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson and Johnson; and Peter Botten, managing director of Oil Search.
The leaders who will speak during the event are Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte, Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Bin Mohamad, Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, Xi and Pence.
