YOUNG businessman Steven Kilage has come to the assistance of Kundiawa parish priest Fr Simon Kewandi by donating K1,000 to assist in youth and community work.
The donation would go towards fixing the basketball court.
He is passionate about helping the youths to refrain from getting involved in drug-related problems and alcohol abuse.
With the basketball court refurbished, Kewandi would help the youths in Kundiawa to participate in the sport.
He said from Kundiawa that the funding was timely and would help in completing necessary work on the basketball court.
“The small donation was timely. It is an addition to necessary funds raised to support the work of youths. I really appreciate the assistance from Kilage,” the Catholic priest said.
Kilage has been helping the youths in Kundiawa with similar programmes through the non-governmental organisation, Youth-Link.
“We need such partnership with NGO and government statutory bodies to support the work of the youths PNG.
“We are grateful that Kilage and YouthLink have worked tirelessly to support youths in Chimbu,” Kewandi said.
He supported the call made by Kilage for more business houses, especially in Kundiawa to come forward and help youths with financial assistance and materials to undertake various projects in the town.
