Businessman backs Gerehu touch finals

BUSINESSMAN Russell Wavik came to the aid of the Gerehu Touch Association finals, much to the relief of the organisers yesterday.
With time running out on the sponsorship for the shield and trophy, Wavik stepped in finally with almost K700 sponsorship of the Russel Wavik Shield, which will go to the winners tomorrow, as well as trophies for the minor premiers and runners-up for the season.
The Russell Wavik Shield has been pledged for two seasons, and will go to the 2009-10 season champions, and then to the champions the following year, 2010-11.
The finals were also given the thumbs up from City Pharmacy Limited (CPL) offering vouchers as prizes for individual performances, as well as teams.
The packages have given organisers the go-ahead, with preparations for tomorrow, with the buzz slowly building for the Rotek Cowboys and Dekenai Eagles showdown.
