THE Triumph Heritage Empowerment Party has endorsed a businessman from Rigo to contest the Rigo Open seat in the general election.
Kini Vini, from Kore village, Rigo district, was officially endorsed by party leader Don Polye at Hula village, outside Port Moresby, on Monday.
Vini’s endorsement to contest the hottest seat in the Rigo area was done during the party’s Papuan region launching.
Hula village youths, women’s groups, school children and traditional groups gave a welcome fit for a chief to Polye when he landed in a helicopter at Manea Manea primary school.
Polye, who is the Treasury and Border Development Minister, was carried in a canoe to the stage and given a red carpet treatment.
Vini will be up against incumbent Ano Pala and other prominent businessmen for the seat.
