COMMITMENT and hard work are keys to success in the business world, a businesswoman said.
Grace Kaupa, of Western Highlands, paced herself in the business industry through those two qualities.
She now owns a second-hand store in Goroka, Eastern Highlands.
GK Klos was started in 1998 from almost nothing.
After 13 years of operation, it has opened a branch in Konedobu, Port Moresby.
Kaupa said it was tough putting things together from almost nothing especially in a strong competitive environment.
“To start from scrap against big established competitors was a big hurdle.
“I realised that only through commitment and hard work I can get what I planned and bring the business to greater heights,” she said.
Other problems confront a business in a new location but it took Kaupa courage to assess her opportunity and her hard work will pay off.
“I have customers from Port Moresby who encouraged me to try out the city.
“The small space in a run-down warehouse was a challenge and opportunity so I thought why not.
“It won’t hurt to try,” Kaupa said.
Kaupa’s GK Klos will sell quality clothing, bedding, toys, bags and books. It has a wide range of customers in Goroka, Port Moresby, Lae and Mt Hagen.
