BUSU Secondary School in Lae has completed its K200,000 male ablution block project.
The students thanked administration and parents for supporting the construction of the ablution.
The ablution has 21 toilets, 10 showers, six urinals and three storeroom. It was opened by Morobe One senior secondary school inspector Gesengsu Aisi.
Head boy Leso Kargo thanked principal George Noble for ensuring the project was completed as well as other developments at school.
“We were using the girls’ toilet for three weeks when they tried to connect water into new ablution block. But before that, we were using our old toilet,”he said.
“The old one compared to our primary school’s toilet, was really bad. We complained at first when we started in grade nine in 2016.
“Back then we though that since this was a secondary school, the toilets would be better.”
Scripture Union president Luther Kising thanked school’s administration for the physical and academic developments.
“Since Noble came in, there are many physical developments, as well as academic changes which the school improved a lot,” he said.
“We will make sure to look after the facility for future male students of this school.”
Meanwhile, Morobe Two secondary school inspector Gibson Dom called on the parents to teach their children to look after the facility.
“This toilet facility is close to ones you would find in hotels. So look after it well,” Dom said.
