Cadets start seven-day field exercise

 OFFICER cadets at the Defence Force Academy in Igam, Morobe, have started their seven-day battle craft field exercise codenamed Exercise First Run in the Dumpu area of Ramu Valley, Madang. 

The exercise would test their skills and knowledge taught over the past 13 weeks.

Those skills include living on field, operating weapon systems, navigating, using radio telephone procedures and employing field craft and minor tactics to operate as a section in conducting offensive operations.

The cadets operate in teams of eight to ensure each one became competent section members enabling them to work efficiently and effectively in a team environment to achieve missions and tasks.

The exercise will end on Friday.
