Call for funding proposals

 THE European Union has called for funding proposals on human rights and democracy.

The funding is to support civil society and human rights defenders in Third World countries working in the field of human rights (political, civil, economic, social and cultural), and democratisation. 

This will help to contribute to the development and consolidation of democracy, the rule of law and respect for all fundamental rights and freedoms.

The specific objectives are:

• To strengthen the institutional capacity of community justice system in PNG;
• To build the capacity of human rights institutions in PNG;
• To support the rights of the children or women rights to have access to support service when at risk;
• To support efforts contributing to strengthening the governance process at districts and lower levels of government in PNG;
• To strengthen efforts to make Parliament more accessible to citizens or to support initiatives that promotes policy dialogue among human right actors in PNG.
