Call for public servants to register with NID

THE Western Highlands administration has advised all public servants in the province to register with the National Identification (NID) programme.
It said NID officers and a team from the Department of Personnel Management (DPM) were in the province to conduct audits and assessments of the NID registration process.
Acting provincial administrator Stanley Maip said the registration process started on Monday and would continue for the next two weeks at the new Kapal Haus.
He said this was in compliance with a National Executive Council’s directive issued last year for all public servants to have NID numbers in order to be on payroll.
“It is mandatory and a pre-requisite requirement that all heads of Government agencies in the province ensure that their staff have NID cards to be on Government payroll other benefits going forward.”
