Call for school investigation

Letters

Many headmasters of schools around the country complain about the Government’s failure to disburse free education funds in a timely manner.
A few schools in remote Erave, Southern Highlands, have been so quiet and pretend that all is well.
Teachers only front up at schools during the start of the school year.
They confirm their positions, fill in the ‘teacher resumption duty’ forms, inflate school enrollments to attract more funds, complete the necessary documents required to qualify for tuition fee free subsidies, wait for a few weeks to have their names registered on the Education Department’s payroll system and disappear thereafter.
Can the PNG Teaching Service Commission live up to its words and investigate the head masters and teachers of these schools?
Arrest and send them to the right place for rehabilitation.
