Call to probe Jiwaka’s books right

The National, Tuesday October 29th, 2013

I SUPPORT Stanley Nondol’s comments regarding no implementation of development plans in Jiwaka (Oct 23).

Governor William Tongamp does not have a blueprint for the province unlike our three open MPs.

Despite the lack of evidence that developments are taking place, I understand that K20 million has already been spent, with the bill for car hire topping the list.

The governor has overlooked vacant state land in Minj and Banz, proposing to uproot our famous Kurumul Tea for the provincial headquarters.

Road maintenance in Jimi, Waghi border and from Minj to Sigmil remains undone although I believe a work contract has been signed.

I support other concerned Jiwakans and call on the government to audit the Jiwaka provincial government’s spending.
