 CAMPAIGNING for the Madang by-election gained momentum as it entered its second week.

A National Alliance Party team flew in from Port Moresby last Tuesday and Wednesday used the Sepik National Alliance MPs to campaign for candidate, Dr Salam Malagun.

The People’s Labour Party arranged for truckloads of supporters to make noise around town. 

The NA have national president Walter Schnaubelt, who is a Papua New Guinea karate champion, perform at Barum Primary School and Suyau village, outside Madang.

He said the symbol of him breaking a river boulder in front of hundreds of people,who had gathered was for them to see and understand that NA knew how to break through and rescue the country.

The PLP’s Peter Yama told voters at Baiteta that this was the first time he was contesting for the Madang Open seat.

Brian Krammer and Nixon Duban have put posters up in town and are moving into the Transgogol and Ambenob local level government areas, while Buka Malai has banners all over the Transgogol  area.
