Campus head challenges students

Education

DIVINE Word University (DWU)’s St Benedict campus vice-president Dr Fr Lawrence Arockiaraj says students should not be just information givers.
“They should also be transformation makers of education in Papua New Guinea,” he said.
Speaking at the launch of its school of business and informatics in Wewak on Thursday, Fr Arockiaraj said the new faculty would encourage students to be both as information givers and transformation makers of education.
Fr Arockiaraj has been the key founder of the campus in 2017.
The campus has three other departments and the new faculty will now broaden the scope of education offered at the university, without having to travel to the main campus in Madang or in Port Moresby to study business and informatics-related courses.
The event was officiated by the East Sepik Governor Allan Bird, witnessed by students, staff and distinguished guests from the Madang campus.
Bird said the campus had, in three years, accomplished towards efforts to educate the young and future leaders of PNG.
“This campus encourages a diverse blend of students nationwide,” he said. The business and informatics faculty will commence enrollment before the start of the second semester of this year.
