THE Cancer Relief Society in Lae is organising a “head-shave” as part of an awareness programme to raise funds.
Society special needs coordinator Andrea Niblett appealed to companies and government agencies to sponsor their employees to have their heads shaved on April 27.
Proceeds from the project will go towards much-needed cancer awareness, Niblett said.
He said despite cancer being a killer disease, the society never received funding from the government while HIV-AIDS, tuberculosis, diabetes and others received state help.
The Cancer Relief Society is helping the National Cancer Centre at the Angau Memorial Hospital to raise money for its programme.
Niblett can be contacted on 7671 0202 for details of the head shaving fundraiser.
