NINTH-placed Erima Hurricanes went into high gear upsetting competition leaders Botherhoods 8-6 in the Port Moresby Suburban League on Saturday.
The Hurricanes, who have shown consistent form in recent weeks, turned the tables on the premiership favourites at Kone Tigers Oval.
Hurricanes playmaker Abong Luna scored the first try, but Brotherhoods lock Duncan Apaio charged over to take back the lead 6-4.
Brotherhoods were camped in Hurricanes territory in second half, but could not score any points.
Hurricanes then capped off that defensive effort when dummy-half Kingstone Wavo set up back-rower Isaac Goiya for the winning try.
Suburban League president Billy Aki said the playoffs next month with five weekends to play left in the regular season.
