CANTERBURY Bulldogs star players and officials left for Kavieng for their second programme there on Saturday.

This is an ongoing programme between the NRL club and Kavieng Hotel at the end of the season.

The eight players – Mitch Brown, Tim Browne, Steve Turner, Lachlan Burr, Harlan Alaalatoa, Ed Murphy, Adam Elliott and Denzel King – were accompanied by club staff.

They included Andrew Patmore, Steven Pike, David Spaul, Andrew Mortimer, Andrew Wardrop, Philip Valentine, Paul Ware, Paul Abouhamad, Edwina Roberts and Christine Prodromou.

Patmore said this was their second visit the province and they were excited to conduct coaching and training in Kavieng for a week.

“We love to come here and train with the young talents who are very excited and determined to learn, which is a good opportunity and to identify talents on the outback of Papua New Guinea.

He said it was a pity that 2012 Dally Medal winner Ben Babar could not make it.
