Capital city league names juniors

 PORT Moresby Women’s Basketball League executives have announced their team for the 2013 City Pharmacy National Junior Championships in Kavieng, New Ireland, in September.

League secretary Karo Lelai said the selectors had announced 15 players, with Opa Eko to captain the side and Rosa Kairi as her deputy.

The other players are Maimu Kala, Marie Terry, Melissa Ipai, Norma Dobunaba, Bettina Dobunaba, Daniella Koroka, Lyn Unagi, Kerry Parapa, Hazel Diro, Grade Sabadi, Ori Ipai, Kathrine Gosa and Henryette Henry. 

Lelai said coach would be Mary Elavo Junior, with her deputy being Gamini Koroka and manageress in Susan Velma Gosa.

She said Kairi, Terry and Eko were all in the Under-19 team they sent to Victoria, Australia, last year for the Oceania Youth Championship, where  Eko captained  for the first time on an international tour. Kairi, Eko, Kala and Mary Fred Elavo were in the POMWBL team that won the City Pharmacy Ltd National All Stars.
