Cardinal appeals to govt, church

COLLABORATIVE effort is the way to address sorcery-related violence, Cardinal Sir John Ribat says.
“Sorcery-related violence will always be with us and will always be here among our people,” he said.
“Some provinces have come out very strongly in the way people are killed, tortured and attacked.
“So my intention is that the church has to do something, the Government has to do something and it’s really an issue for all of us.
“I believe that as it is existing throughout the country, this practice and belief, and we really have to be united doing something, the church especially, because we are with our people so we have to go out and do something.
“We are trying to do something already but this (issue) continues to come back to our people.”
Sir John said the cause of sorcery-related violence was still unclear, suggesting more studies on the issue. “Before, I know it was not as strong as it is now,” he said.
“So I’m not sure if a study could be done to address this to see what is it thats really fuelling this.”
“People are no longer adhering to our Christian beliefs and values in our society.
“The bishops, we will do something and pick it up again but I’m requesting the whole nation to do something in helping the Government and the disciplinary agencies.”
Sir John called for a collaborative effort on combating the issue, with everyone in society working together.
“The police alone can’t do this. I think all of us need to be united to do something like this,” he said.
“It’s a challenge for the church, Government and society.”
“It’s a really big issue and it will always be here until we really take it to heart and work together, then we can really address this issue.”

We the church need rise up to the next level to destroy the work of the witch craft in this Nation, Jesus did not give a Authority & Power to any roman govrnment officer, the Government of Jesus is Higher than Roman Government,
Jesus said , I give you authority &Power, when will the Church use that Power, Mathew 16: 18-20. The onus is in the Church today solve all issues, problems the Nation/ world is facing today…..
Mr Joe, you miss understood the message of the Cardinal. He is calling for a collaborative effort to holistically address this burning issue of sorcery related violence that is currently putting the lives of innocent people at risk. Government is here to serve the people so as the church. We need to stand united, provide every support we can to address this issue of sorcery. Not only the church or only the government in isolation. Each and everyone has a duty to play in addressing this issue would be a way forward.

Church of the living God is Independent, democratic government is only available to get advice from the Higher Government, is the Kingdom Government of Jesus brought down from heaven to earth. We can not compromise with democratic government, the office of God is Higher, where there is compromise, the church goes into darkness again, can not repeat in this time & season……
Joe Ima, why can’t you make some comments that will improve this area, prevail common sense and some understandings.You speak like one of Job’s friends when Job was in big trouble.God is dealing with every Christians.In your other statement you have mentioned that Mathew 5:8.Does that talked about one particular church,Any person who’s heart is with God will see the Kingdom of God and he will rule and reign for ever in the Kingdom of God.So I believe you are not helping this group of people.
Other wise PNG is making mockery out God. Claiming as Christians but all form of work of life is affected by mighty corrupted system into huge form of violence. Some people and Christians churches are doing their best to curb this trend while many bureaucratic system of PNG government are kept fouling this nation with huge corruption. How?????
When you talk about sorcery, you are talking about dealing with evil spirits.
Obviously this is where the church should take lead in dealing with this matter on their Knees praying.
Church Leaders should not worry about the support from the Government,
Instead they should worry of the support from the one and only true power from above.
The so called “galasman” are also using sorcery, they are no different to the suspected sorcerers.
Arrest the galasman bcos he is playing with the same power used by the sorcerers.
I can’t believe that some Christians are using galasman to do the finding out.
Bottom line is the church should worry about spiritual matters and deal with it, and let the Govt do its own thing through investigation.
