Career day focuses on improving learning skills

Institute of Business Studies (IBS) and Career Development Centre (CDC) visited Destiny school during their faith career expression day at Gerehu, Port Moresby, Thursday.
Manager IBS CDC Dr Sanjay Baalasnbramani and team leader Alex Masa visited the school to speak with the children, parents and teachers on how to improve children’s learning skills.
“Failure is the first attempt in learning where parents must not react quickly to their children’s mistakes,” Baalasnbramani said.
He said children can memorise a thousand words.
He demonstrated a short play by pitching 20 words out loud to the children and then asking each child to memorise and then recall the words.
Masa said: “Talent is not something to learn about, it is an inbuilt God-given gift to every individual which makes each and everyone unique. So many talents are hidden because of a lack of wisdom.”
He advice the children, parents and teachers to understand God as the source of wisdom.
