The youth desk of the National Capital District Commission has given K3000 to Papua New Guinea Career Development Inc in Port Moresby yesterday.
According to PNG Career Development president John Kamasua, the donation would be the first of its kind in cash.
“PNG Career Development Inc is a professional entity that runs career development and employment enhancement programmes and seeks to assist and facilitate the development of careers of professionals, young people and those seeking employment, through workshops, seminars and regular advising and counselling,” Kamasua said.
According to NCDC youth coordinator, Rex Buka, the youth desk and the commission had noticed that the entity had done a fantastic job to empower formal and informal youths through its workshop and online awareness which was in line with some of our programmes.
“The NCDC youth have rolled out three programmes recently which are economic youth empowerment, the youth help desk and the arts and musical awards,” Rex said.
He said career development has helped youths with similar interests and the donation would help continue that work.
“From time to time we would also ask for its engagement to mentor our youths when we have an informal and formal youth gathering,” Rex said
