A PERMANENT chairperson has been appointed to the public service and teaching service conciliation and arbitration tribunals and the minimum wages board.
She is Beverley Doiwa, a career officer with the Department of Labour and Industrial Relations.
Confirming the appointment last Thursday, Labour and Industrial Relations Minister Martin Aini said Doiwa “is a career officer who brings with her a wealth of experience, specifically in matters dealing with arbitration tribunals”.
“Her appointment comes at a time when there is a backlog of issues to be arbitrated in the private sector, the public and teaching services and minimum wages which require an experienced senior officer to assume conciliation and arbitration leadership,” Aini said in a media statement.
“I am confident that she will discharge her administrative responsibilities conscientiously.
“I also take this
opportunity to thank outgoing chairman Pex Avosa for services rendered in his term as the chairman.”
