Caritas: New logo, vision

CARITAS Papua New Guinea mission and vision statement is centred on integral human development, peace building, disaster and advocacy to support social development in PNG.
Wewak Catholic diocese Bishop Jozef Roszynski, who is also the deputy Bishop of Caritas PNG made the remarks at the launching of the new logo in Port Moresby on Monday.
“Our new vision is for all who live and serve through the experience belonging to God inspired by the Gospel of Catholic church teaching and the model of Jesus, the mission is Caritas staff and volunteers will demonstrate and promote life and love of God’s Kingdom by serving and defending poor, vulnerable and marginalised, promoting compassion and justice through educating integral human development, building peace, responding to those affected by the disasters and advocating for those who have no voice,” he said.
Catholic Bishop Conference of Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands president Archbishop Anton Bal said Caritas means love and care while the cross and the strips symbolise universal organisation and paradise symbolise PNG identity.
“The word Caritas means love and care that is why as a church organisation we love and care, a church service and it reflects the nature of the church which is supposed to be serving the people.”
