A COURT has adjourned a wilful murder case of a 38-year -old woman for defence submissions to be made.
Waigani committal court Magistrate Danny Wakikura told Janet Kina, from Rulgna village, Dei in Western Highlands, that her charge was sensitive and that the court would give three weeks for her lawyer to make submissions.
“When the submissions are ready, we will fix a hearing date,” he said.
Police alleged that on June 21, 2016, around 3-4pm, Janet stabbed Cathy Wisil in her stomach outside the Pacific Racing premises at Gordon in Port Moresby, causing her death.
Cathy was married to Janet’s husband Andrew Kina for three years after they had divorced.
It was alleged that Andrew was at Pacific Racing to bet with Cathy when Janet, and her co-accused Agnes Abraham, attacked her.
Andrew did not know that Janet and Agnes were waiting for him and Cathy outside and gave the car key to Cathy to go home and drop off their shopping.
As Cathy reached the entrance of the Pacific Racing, the two women attacked her with knives.
Agnes allegedly stabbed Cathy on the head and Janet stabbed her on her stomach.
