Cases continue to rise

PAPUA New Guinea recorded 76 new Covid-19 cases on Friday, raising the total cases to 15,848.
The national Covid-19 Controller said in a statement yesterday that the cases were reported in eight provinces with Manus registering the highest with 28 cases.
Western Highlands reported 14 cases, Autonomous Region of Bougainville 13, East New Britain 10, New Ireland five, National Capital District four and Eastern Highlands and Jiwaka a single case each.
Of the 76 cases, 53 were men and 21 women, aged between four and 75.
Meanwhile, total deaths stood at 162 with 14,937 recoveries to date.
To date, a total of 114, 671 people around the country have been tested for the Covid-19.
