Our catechists meet to plan for the future

Faith

Catechists of the Port Moresby Archdiocese gathered this week for their first quarter recollection and updating programme.
Held at the Sivarai Namona Pastoral Centre, the two-day programme saw 65 catechists from 10 parishes attending.
The programme opened with a teaching on the fundamental principle of catechism.
Brother Raymond Wingi shared ideas on planning and programming which could help the catechists draw up their plan for the year.
Apart from the discussions, the participants presented reviews of last year’s programmes and did group sharing and reflections.
The first day of the programme concluded with the evening rosary, dinner, twilight recollection and the movie The Road to Emmaus, about a disciple’s encounter with Jesus.
The second day’s sessions got them to reflect on their lives as catechists and to make changes.
