THE Holy Spirit Primary School in Madang is a Catholic school but is open to pupils from all denominations.
Archbishop of Madang Stephen Reichert said since it was a Catholic school, they had the right to accept Catholics to make up 80 per cent of  the student population but other denominations were welcomed.
He said it would try to prevent overcrowding, a result of the Government’s free education policy influencing more pupils to attend school.
Reichert said they wanted appropriate age groups for different grades.
“The appropriate age for Grade 3 students would be those between 10 and 12 and above that they are in their 20s when they finish their secondary education,” Reichert said.
He said the school was planning to expand to getting four to five streams of classes and apply for more teachers.
