Catholic schools building students spiritually

Education in Catholic Schools is not only about gaining knowledge but receiving spiritual formation, according to Wewak Diocese Bishop Józef Roszynski.
This year 163 girls attending Yarapos Mercy Secondary School received the Sacrament of Confirmation last month.
Confirmation is one of the seven sacraments of the Catholic Church.
Roszynski said: “The Sacrament of Confirmation is always a reminder of the power of God working in us. The more we are open to the prompts of the Holy Spirit working in us, the more we can connect with the grace God.
“We are spiritual being and we can do more than we can imagine if we open ourselves to the Power of God.
“Good example is the first Christian community. Each one was having particular gift and used it for the good of others,” he said.
