Catholic youths in Daru for rally

Faith

ABOUT 200 Catholic youths from the Kiunga/Daru Diocese have flocked to Daru for a week-long rally.
The rally under the theme “Youth alive in Christ” would see presentations aiming at moulding youths to be independent, enterprising, and responsive in ways that would sustain the work of the church in the three parishes: St Mary’s De Monfort in Daru/Suki; St Michael’s in Bamu of the Kiwai area; and, St Joseph’s in Balimo.
Youths were welcomed to the rally with a mass on Sunday celebrated by the three parish priests.
Kiunga/Daru Diocese youth coordinator Ambi James in welcoming the youths, urged them to learn much from the rally both for spiritual and physical development.
South Fly development authority officer Ano Stanis also urged the youths to take the rally seriously in order to benefit them, their families, communities, and the church.
Youths in Western comprise up to 45 per cent of the more than 300,000 population living there, bordered by Indonesia and Australia.
