VILLAGERS of Zifasing and Tararan in Wampar local level government (LLG), Huon Gulf district, in Morobe, claim that their food gardens and other cash crops have been destroyed by uncontrolled herds of cattle.
They called on their MP and Minister for Health Sasa Zibe and the relevant livestock authorities to do something about it.
Their LLG ward 20 councillor Timothy Luke said their food gardens had been so badly destroyed, the villagers would have to be compensated.
Luke said 19 villagers from Tararan village, 42km out of Lae claimed nearly all their food and cash crops, including peanuts, bananas, watermelons, young cocoa plants and others had been destroyed.
The villagers claimed the cattle were owned by the state.
