MEMBERS of the Catholic and Anglican churches came together to celebrate a 10-year-old covenant at the St Joseph’s Catholic Church in Boroko last Sunday.
The covenant supports open dialogue between the two churches through which co-operation will be evident to discuss issues relating to the two churches.
The covenant was signed on July 20, 2003.
Talks have been ongoing since then on updating it.
The latest version was shown during the Service of Unity on Feb 23 which church members were grateful for.
Parishioners of the Anglican and Catholic churches who attended the Service of Unity embraced the established relationship between the two churches and were happy to meet the bishops and priests of the two churches.
They acknowledged the initiative the heads of the two Churches have taken to come up with an important document when shown to them during the Service of Unity.
The two churches have planned to hold the Service of Unity every year and are looking forwarding to holding another one in 2015 that will be hosted by the Anglican Church.
