TEAM Central and Chimbu are the two biggest movers on the 7th BSP PNG Games medal tally as of 4pm yesterday afternoon.
Central shot to the top of the ladder after warming the third spot for the last two days with 35
gold, 20 silver and 18 bronze medals.
PNG Games sports director John Susuve said Central won convincingly in weightlifting and that propelled them into the top of the ladder.
The changes of the positions on the medal tally have really kept the provinces on their toes to see who will win the Games.
“We are now in true spirit of the game and the competition. The full house that turned up to watch athletics and soccer shows the spirit of the Games,” Susuve said.
“WNB has shown their support in the true spirit of the Games by turning up in huge numbers not only yesterday but since the start of the competition,” Susuve said.
“Despite all the challenges, the visiting teams and the HOC faced in the first week of the competition, and now we should focus better.”
