THE Central Dabaris say they will focus on team work and getting the basics right in their Digicel Cup opener against the Gulf Isou in Port Moresby tomorrow (3.30pm kick-off).
Dabaris coach Bagelo Solien told The National yesterday that he wasn’t worried about his opposition but rather on his side’s efficiency ahead of their clash at Sir John Guise Stadium.
“We’re concentrating on our own performance, what we have to do as a team,” he said.
“Our focus is on attack and defence, and getting the basics right.
“What we are focused on now is what we are supposed to do as a team.
“In the halves, I’m looking at Sebastian Gaudi (five-eighth) and Junior Belo (halfback) to start.
“I also have (former Hela Wigman) Jerry Teme on the bench but that will be finalised on game day.
“I’m looking at (former Waghi Tumbe player) Frank Kagai to have an impact up front, along with Heniga Lapanda who was consistent off the bench all last year.
“We’ve decided to promote Lapanda to the starting side.
“We’ve also got Buli Henao and skipper Rex Kaupa running in the back row.
“We’re hoping they will complement Kagai and Lapanda in our opener against coach Nigel Hukula’s men.”
