THE Central provincial government has paid K243,731 to assist the tuition fees of 121 Central students at the PNG University of Technology (Unitech).

Central Governor Kila Haoda’s project officer Joseph Loi handed over the money to Unitech bursar Bapa Bomoteng last week.

The assistance is part of Central provincial government’s new scholarship scheme on education.

Loi said the new scheme was also part of the governor’s election promise which would continue for five years.

He urged students to prioritise their studies to be eligible for such financial assistance.

President of Central Students’ Association of Unitech Camillus Koloa thanked Haoda and his administration for paying the tuition fees.
