Central, Gulf cops in training
The National, Thursday March 3rd, 2016
THIRTY members of the police from National Capital District, Central and Gulf are attending a leadership programme at the Bomana Police Training College.
College commander Chief Superintendent Perou N’dranou (pictured) said the purpose of the training was to better equip the supervisors and non-commissioned officers with skills required of them to guide and mentor probationary constables who passed out of the college as recruits.
“The training that the participants are undergoing is for frontline supervision and leadership,” N’dranou said.
He said hopefully recruits passed out with discipline instilled in them.
It’s only when they are not guided properly in the field that they go out of line, which gives a bad public perception of the police force, he said.
The training includes theory and practical sessions, in which participants experience real life scenarios and are assessed by instructors.
