Central man in police custody after brother stabbed to death

A MAN is in custody after his brother was stabbed to death at Gerehu Stage 2 in Port Moresby on Saturday.
Gerehu police say that the victim, originally from Kairuku, Central, was attacked during a heated argument.
Gerehu police station commander Hensen Tokally said the victim was pronounced dead at Gerehu General Hospital after he was rushed there by relatives.
The victim’s brother is being held at the Gerehu police station cells.
Tokally said he would be handed over to the Boroko homicide division to help them with investigations into his brother’s death.
Meanwhile, Tokally has urged commuters travelling into the suburbs to take precaution when driving. He said a Toyota Camry
Mark II was reported stolen by a group of youths at Gerehu Stage 3 on Friday night.
He said theft of vehicles were increasing in the city and it was their duty to remind you to be vigilant on the road while driving.
Tokally said his officers were currently investigating the theft of the car on Friday night.
He praised Gerehu residents for a peaceful fun run yesterday.
Tokally said there were no reports of petty crimes during the fun run.
