CENTRAL United have a daunting task against Southern Strikers in round two of the National Soccer League Southern Conference at the Sir John Guise Stadium tomorrow.
Both sides beat their respective opponents in the opening round and will be out to maintain their perfect records.
Central United franchise co-owner Kamo Kini said: “We have no big name players.
“All our players come from the village setting.
“We respect our opponents who have good facilities, sponsorship and experience.
“But our best talent will go out there to prove a point.
“There is no time for us to relax, knowing that the Strikers have the energy to match their opponents.
“They beat Star Mountain 2-1 in round one.
“So this match should be tough, featuring a young crop of players from both sides.”
Kini said his players were looking forward to the match.
“They know what it takes to play against the city teams,” he said.
Strikers manager Gordon Manu said their main focus was on defence, which they had worked on throughout the week.
“We are addressing this, as we are aware that United are fast in attack,” he said.
“We have a few injuries, so we’ll see how we go with our final preparations.”
He said the final team was named yesterday.
