THE new Hela province will set aside funds to support people starting up small businesses.
Hela Transitional Authority chairman James Marabe said they wanted to support people starting businesses because the government had failed to do so.
The Tari-Pori MP said it was the government’s responsibility to help people become successful.
Changes will come to Hela when government support reaches the people, he added.
The Authority aims to educate the people to be successful.
Marabe hopes to make the province successful by getting people to be involved in business activities to “become different”.
Some people are wandering in the streets doing nothing and it is the government’s responsibility to help them become involved in some things useful.
The authority has also set aside 20% of its budget to subsidies school fees.
Another 10% has been allocated to support churches.
