STAFF of the PNG Chamber of Mines and Petroleum lifted the spirits of children at the Life PNG Care Centre in Port Moresby by providing food and gifts to help them celebrate Easter.
Centre founder Collin Pake thanked the chamber for thinking of the children. Chamber public relations and communications manager Mackhenly Kaiok said it was part of their community outreach programme to visit such institutions as Life PNG Care to donate food and basic items.
“Although this donation is small, it is significant as it will really assist the centre look after the many children it houses during this long Easter weekend,” he said.
Life PNG Care has been looking after disadvantaged and vulnerable children and youth for over 10 years.
It currently houses almost 70 children, most of whom are now attending schools and tertiary institutions.
