THE PNG National Rugby League brought the curtain down on the Digicel Cup 2012 season yesterday at the Lloyd Robson Oval, Port Moresby.
Agmark Gurias walked away with the champions’ tag, K50,000 and the cup after a hard-fought 14-10 victory over the Mendi Muruks.
“What better way to end the season with probably two of the best teams of the season,” PNGNRL general manager Hubert Warupi said.
“Congratulations to the Gurias, and the Muruks.
“It’s been a long and hard year, with what we have had to come across in the management of the competition. We set a goal to start on time, and end on time, and I think we’ve achieved that.”
Warupi also extended his thanks to the franchise owners, as well all support sponsors.
The Muruks recieved K25,000 for their runners-up tag, and the other three sides that made the finals will pick up K10,000 each, for a total K105,000 prize money.
