Change attitudes for a better PNG

Letters

WE want our country to be corruption-free with better infrastructure development and better health and education services.
That is why we have the Vision 2050.
These massive changes that we always talk about will not happen unless we change our attitude.
Our leaders will never change this country alone.
They may have the political power, but nothing will change if people don’t do the right thing.
The change we need requires everyone to take the first step and do what is right.
Look at our boarding schools, most of them have broken chairs, desks, walls, fences, lights and graffiti on school property.
These damages are mostly caused by students. Repairing these damages costs a lot of money.
If the school is a government school, the State pays for all the damages. The Government spends a lot on this.
This is just one example of what’s wrong with how we behave.
Another example is when people patch up potholes on our roads and expect motorists to pay them.
We need to change the way we think and do things.
Change does not require a university degree, it does not necessarily require formal education.
Good change comes from using common sense and knowing what is right and wrong.
We only need to change our attitude and do things the right way.
Take ownership of State properties and let us help the Government.
Let’s help our Government avoid unnecessary spending.
