Change governing system

Letters

ECONOMIC hit-men have created the world’s first truly global empire and they have done it primarily without the military (John Perkins, former economic hit-man).
They work in many different ways by, perhaps the most common, taking Third World countries that are rich with resources.
Corporations take aim at oil and gas and then arrange a huge loan for that country from the World Bank or one of its sister organisations.
However, the money never actually goes to that country, instead it goes to their own corporations to build infrastructure projects in that country such as power plants, highways, industrial parks, etc … things that benefit a few wealthy families in that country as well as the corporations but don’t help the majority of the people at all.
The majority of the people are too poor to buy electricity or drive cars, they don’t have the skills to get jobs in industrial parks but they are left holding a huge debt.
This is the bitter truth that has been ignored by those responsible. Yet they know that the world monetary-system will surely fail in the end and the end for industrial civilisation will happen.
However, governing systems were created by humans and can be changed by humans.
Let us hope this voice of the periphery be recognised by the current government of the day to console with and take back PNG!
