Change in AGM schedule criticised

FORMER zone representative and current PNG NRL Bid officer Jacob Ivaroa has condemned the apparent rescheduling of the PNGRFL annual general meeting from the advertised date of Dec 12 to this Sunday (Nov 28).
Ivaroa, who is in Goroka for the launching of the bid’s junior rugby league programme, said many leagues in the country would be in a state of confusion as to the actual date of the all important AGM.
He alleged due process and protocols involved in the operation of PNGRFL were breached and hijacked in the nomination of candidates.
“Experienced people in the rugby league fraternity were caught by surprise yesterday at the announcement of PNGRFL operations manager Joe Tokam on the nomination of  John Numapo, Gary Juffa and Albert Kramer,” he said.
“Joe Tokam has misled the entire rugby league community with the announcement and closing of the nominations, he earlier announced the AGM would be held on Dec 12 and now he is telling us that it will be held in Lae this Sunday, he is misleading us,” Ivaroa said.
Tokam is set to make an official announcement today on the date of the PNGRFL AGM.
