Charity golf to tee off on Friday
The National, Tuesday 20th November, 2012
BUSINESS houses are again expected to support the 2012 Daffodil Cup Corporate golf challenge on Friday at the Port Moresby Golf Club.
The annual charity golf event, sponsored by Oil Search Ltd, will raise funds for the Port Moresby Cancer Relief Society to sustain operations of the cancer ward at the Port Moresby General Hospital.
The ward was opened with money raised from the inaugural event in 2003 and has since been providing chemotherapy and care for cancer patients free of charge.
The corporate golf challenge has been the major fundraiser for the cancer society with strong backing from business houses in Port Moresby and Lae.
Oil Search corporate affairs coordinator and Cancer Relief Committee member Ruth Waram thanked the company for its continued support of the event.
“So far we have 29 confirmed teams that will be participating in the event and we welcome more teams and donations,” Waram said.
