THE Chemcare Group Ltd is the proud recipient of the overall inaugural “Good Corporate Citizen” award.
The award, organised by the Department of Labour and Industrial Relations last year, saw 22 firms submitting entries.
Receiving the award from Labour and Industrial Relations secretary George Vaso, Chemcare group general manager Daniel King thanked the department for recognising their participation and contribution towards the practice of sound employment.
King congratulated the other 21 firms and organisations that received the inaugural award and thanked the department for its initiative in creating the award.
King said the Chemcare group employed over 1,000 employees in many locations throughout the nation.
“We know that human resource is the most important asset in our organisation. We realise that without good recruitment, training and sound practices there is no firm foundation to build and expand upon and our staff will not have the skills and the knowledge required to build a career that will take and sustain them into the future,” he said.
“The award does not mean we can sit back and say that we have achieved it all.
“The award means we have to strive and continue to be what we, as a company, are and what the award stands for – a good corporate citizen in all areas of our organisation and the community we deal with,” he said.
