AFTER being knocked off the top spot in the Capital Rugby Union women’s competition, Southern Chiefs are eager to reclaim their position.

The Chiefs, who were been unbeaten since the first round surrendered that status to Trukai Harlequins 25-10.

However, this Saturday should be a thrilling match up as they take on rivals Nova at Monier Rugby Park.

Nova, who were beaten 20-5 by Chiefs in Round 3, will want to event the ledger.

Current PNG Palais representatives Lynette Kwarula and Naomi Alapi will be expected to join forces alongside forwards Angela Pina and Patricia Torea to add on weight to the Nova pack.

Chiefs have a rooster of strong ball-runners Lillian Mulake, Doris Joseph and Cynthia Male while halfback Alice Theodore will be relied on to promote an expansive game.

In the other matches, Harlequins take on Kramer Ausenco Brothers while Spartans and PNG Ports Wanderers go head to head.

Current standings after Round 7: Harlequins 23, Southern Chiefs 20, Spartans 19, Nova 11, Wanderers 9, Brothers 5.
