Chimbu needs change

Letters

WHEN will Chimbu change?
The motto “Time for change” (taim blo senis) is a propaganda which has seen no actual or physical change taking place over the last three years since the election of Chimbu Governor Michael Boagai Dua.
As citizen of Kundiawa town, I am mad by how the Chimbu Provincial Government is moving.
I would like to draw to the attention of the people of Simbu some critical issue of provincial concern.
There is no five-year development plan and a five-year budget plan for the province.
That is, being able to create investment opportunities, promote commercialisation of our local products for imports, promote tourism, create employment opportunities, devise a stronger tax base revenue and more.
Secondly, over the last three years there seem to be no impact projects being implemented under the Provincial and District Services Improvement Programme (PSIP) funding.
PSIP funds have been used up in personal expense, falsified documented projects, recount matters and less significant projects.
Time for change is a cargo cult policy.
As a makanem (landowner), I am now calling my fellow people from Chimbu to raise their voice and let our governor know that time for change cannot come to fruition unless he changes first.

Mr Kanamna,
Concern Simbu
