Chimbu rugby team

CHIMBU Warriors/ Chimbu Angras/Chimbu Lions is the oldest team from Chimbu that has been part of the semi-professional inter-city rugby competition since it kicked off two decades back.
Unfortunately it has yet to win the prestigious cup.
The reason is simple: Wantok system.
It’s a shame to live with the fact that since it entered the inter-city competition, it was infected with the wantok system culture.
The result speaks for itself, however, hard those involved try to hide it.
Good players with natural rugby league talent and skills are always overlooked in preference of wantoks or cronies by selectors, coach, trainers and even sponsors.
This culture must stop if Chimbu is serious about winning the cup.
