Chimbu women undergo SME training
The National, Wednesday August 21st, 2013
THE Chimbu provincial government has allocated K300,000 so that women can undergo small-medium enterprises training.
Governor Noah Kool told the women last week that funding would be also made available as seed capital to help them start businesses after the training.
“Women are the backbone of family units and to empower them is empowering the family, community, district, province and the country in a holistic manner.
“Therefore the provincial government focuses on empowering women.”
Kool said the province was geographically disadvantaged and the political and administrative focus should be on achieving tangible results such as investing in activities such as SMEs.
He urged MPs from the six electorates and LLG presidents to be sworn in soon to support women in business.
